The 2005 Big East Men's Basketball Championship was played from March 9 to March 12, 2005. The tournament took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Syracuse Orange won the tournament and were awarded an automatic bid to the 2005 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Hakim Warrick of Syracuse was given the Dave Gavitt Trophy, awarded to the tournament's most outstanding player. It was Syracuse's first Big East Tournament championship since 1992, and their fourth overall.
